The Power of the Church

Day 2 of the All In Devotional

Day 2: The Power of the Church
April 2, 2016 John Carter

“And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you (My Church) the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Matthew 16:18-19

Jesus will build His church and the gates of hell cannot stop Him. But His plan to build powerful local churches requires you and I to act. Jesus has given us the keys of the Kingdom and we must use them.

It is our responsibility to bind the forces of Satan on earth, and loose the blessings of God. Heaven backs up the church when we step out and use the keys He has given us. God does not act apart from His church!

God cannot bless what we do not take action on. Yet, every time we put our trust in Him and act in courageous faith, His purposes are moved forward.

Your faith and obedience are your enemy’s greatest torment! The forces of hell cannot prevail against the explosive power of faith and obedience!

When God rst spoke to Lisa and I about building a church that would confront the forces of darkness in Central New York, it seemed like an impossible task.

He gave us a vision of building a local church where people who are normally separated by race, economics, and distance would come together to worship Jesus and be equipped to bring His Kingdom into our region.

We didn’t have any major denomination nancially backing us. We didn’t have a place to meet. We really didn’t have any money. But we did have this vision for HIs church burning in our hearts. And by faith we stepped out and gave everything we had to bring it to pass. We went ALL IN.

And God honored our act of faith. Now He is stirring us again to step out in bold faith. He is expanding our vision to bring His Word to others who don’t yet know His love.

And He is challenging everyone who has been touched by our church to go ALL IN together for the Kingdom of God in Central New York. What causes you to hesitate to step out in faith?

What is God asking you to do that might have a greater impact for eternity? Isn’t it time to storm the gates of fear and intimidation that have been holding us back, and go ALL IN for His Kingdom?

Father, open my eyes and show me what you showed Peter. I want the same faith and trust in your Son Jesus to be and do what he said he would, in my life. If I have areas of doubt and unbelief that are holding me back, expose them. I want to grow in faith. I want to grow in obedience to you.
